The Student Success Center (SSC) provides opportunities for students to develop skills inside and outside of the classroom that meets their academic and professional goals. Students are encouraged to visit the SSC for academic assistance, research, and relaxation. These spaces are available on both our Beloit and Hays Campuses.

Monday – Friday : 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
The Computer Lab offers: Internet-accessible computer workstations
Access to web-based email communication
Microsoft Office applications including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
Free laser printing for educational purposes
Tutoring services provided:
- Face-to-face assistance with internet searches and expanding general research skills.
- Targeted aid for assignments and subject areas, including math, computer use, and the social sciences.
- Counseling for improving general study habits, time management skills, and test-taking strategies.
We also offer 24/7 online tutoring for our students. Now students have access to expert tutors 24/7 through Brainfuse. The Tutors can help you understand a concept, get started on a paper, review an assignment, etc. Students can access using their NCKTC Moodle Account.
Beloit Campus Specific Resources:
A computerized catalog detailing the more than 2,000 titles on our shelves.
Access to multiple on-line databases with full-text titles to print.
Over 50 magazines and regional newspapers in print.
Educational and entertainment DVD’s available for checkout.
Participation in the Kansas Interlibrary Loan System, which allows students to borrow materials from other Kansas libraries. Free photocopy services for educational materials.
Hays Campus Specific Resources
Students on the Hays Campus have a unique partnership through the FHSU Gateway Plan. This includes Students Success Resources through the Kelly Center. The Kelly Center is a student support service center. We provide Academic Success Programs and Peer Tutoring for enhancing academic skills, Personal Counseling Services for guiding personal growth, Testing Services for administering national examinations, and the Drug and Alcohol Wellness Network for preventing and treating alcohol and drug abuse. Services are free with the exception of substance abuse evaluations and testing fees.

While you’re here at your home away from home, you’ll have access to prompt, convenient and personable care for minor illnesses or injuries, as well as for testing and medications that keep you healthy and enjoying your time with us.
