After being delayed due to weather, our Beloit community members hosted the first NCK Tech Block Party on Thursday, September 9th, 2021. Many participating businesses stayed open after hours so that our students could race across our downtown streets in an attempt to gain a puzzle piece and answer questions about Kansas history faster than their opposing teams. Once students collected all 17 letters at each stop they returned to the starting point and attempted to unscramble their phrase. The first four teams to successfully assemble ‘Grab the Bull by the Horns’ won awesome prizes donated by local businesses including the Guaranty State bank, Zachary’s Ace Hardware, Carquest, S&S, Schnell & Pestinger, and Beloit Chamber of Commerce. One lucky winner even won a pair of Apple Airpods just for showing up! NCK Tech would like to thank and acknowledge our community for welcoming our students and giving them a deeper sense of home away from home.
