The North Central Kansas Technical College – Information Technology (IT) Program returned home from competing at the National Leadership Conference for Business Professionals of America held in Dallas Texas May 4th-8th, 2022.

Grant Nabity, Connor Flinn, Joseph Buhler, Macie Scott, and Nathan Snively are the students that qualified for the National BPA Competition.  The students brought home 1st in Network Administration using Cisco, 2nd in Fundamentals of Web Design, and Network Administration using Cisco, 3rd in Device Configuration and Troubleshooting, and 10 Top-10 finishes.  The individuals who placed are stated below. 7 Certifications (CompTIA IT Specialist) were obtained as well. These certifications are highly desirable and difficult to pass.

Business Professionals of America helps prepare students for careers in business, computer, and office occupations.  Technical Colleges and Community Colleges participate in the post-secondary organization.

Competitions are held in financial, administrative, information technology, management/marketing/human resources, and open events.  The events require a student to solve technical and business problems in an allotted amount of time.  Present their ideas to judges from their respective fields.  Or take tests that cover their area of interest.
