Course Description
Medication Aides can provide medications in nursing homes, assisted living centers, intermediate care facilities for the mentally challenged, schools, childcare settings, or patient homes. A Medication Aide is trained to work under the direct supervision of a caretaker or licensed health care professional. They provide routine medication by oral, inhalation, topical and instillation routes when appropriate direction and monitoring is provided. Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services and Environment Certified Medication Aide Curriculum Guidelines will be followed. Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the state CMA examination.
